We would like to give a HUGE shout out to the Boston Logan International Airport team for an outstanding transition this week. They are an awesome group who
have their work down to a science and work very well together. Jeff said it was the craziest day of his life with the 33 RONs that were completed. Thank you to Jeff,
his leadership team, and the whole BOS crew for an outstanding job!!!

JetStream’s Pioneering Spirit
We would like to highlight Rob Blacksher in our Summer ’15 newsletter. Rob has been with Jetstream over 4 years and has worked in our
CLT, DEN, BDL, and CMH locations.
Rob was chosen by Joe Gutierrez because he has put in a lot of time and effort in helping turn around our BDL station. Joe said, “A few months ago I asked
Rob for his assistance in helping turn around a struggling BDL station. Without hesitation, Rob accepted the challenge and reported to BDL where began to forge
relationships with our employees and customer. He made an immediate impact and his leadership has really stabilized the station that is now a top performer.
Rob has sacrificed his time away from home, spending long hours on the job and
has had to constantly deal with me:)”
Rob began his airline career in 1997 as a ramp agent in Albuquerque, NM working for DGS. In 1999, he began his management career in Little Rock, AR managing a
Delta contract for 2 years. In 2001, he was selected to manage the first joint venture between DGS and Continental in TPA that ultimately led to partnering in 3 other cities.
Rob’s next stop was LAS where he had oversightof 4 different carriers, DL, WN, AS, and VX. In 2008, Rob was moved to SEA and had oversight of SEA, LAS, and ANC
until 2010 when he left the company.
He then joined our Jetstream family a year later.
Rob mentioned that his most memorable experience in the airline industry was the morning of September 11, 2001 when planes were forced to land across the country in airports they weren’t scheduled to be in with no notice at all. He says he hopes to never experience a day like that again, but what he does remember the most was how inspiring it was to see our
country come together when things were so chaotic. It’s the same spirit that Rob tries to instill in those he works with every day. Thank you Rob for all you do!
CLT – Ben Sando was fueling equipment recently when he noticed that a Delta MD 90 was taxiing with its bin door open. Ben contacted the Supervisor on duty, Keith Marrow, who then called airport ops and had the issue corrected. Our guys did a great job of being aware of their surroundings and possibly stopping a major problem from occurring with the aircraft.
BOS – While cleaning an aircraft early one morning, Julia and Jerome McIntosh both challenged a TSA agent trying to enter the plane. The agent asked Julia and Jerome a few questions which the two were able to answer correctly. Julia was then told by the TSA agent before leaving that JetStream always does a great job in finding what has been hidden on the aircraft. Kudos to Julia and Jerome and a great job done by the BOS team!
GSO – On two occasions in one day, our amazing GSO team members challenged TSA agents. Don Walker prevented unauthorized access to a secured area and Oscar Lanzas, Robert Sanders, and Inez Marcelino challenged an agent at the gate. These four team members did an amazing job and received a huge compliment from a TSA Inspector. Keep up the good work Team GSO!!!
JetStream’s Pioneering Spirits
The Pioneering Spirit choice for this newsletter is not one, but two very hardworking JetStream team players, Ty Yount and Jon Prater.
Ty and Jon were chosen because of all of the hard work and hours they put in during the CMH transition. The two both worked the bag room every day
during the transition because they were shorthanded. Jon would pick Ty up every morning at 4 a.m. on his way into work and they would work 12-14 hour
daysfor almost a month straight.
Ty and Jon make a great team and did an amazing job working the ramp, learning the new American system and training the other employees the new American way of
doing things. Thank you guys for all of your hard work. You two make a great team!!!
We would like to welcome Joe Lovitt who recently joined our team in CLT as the new Director of Hub Operations.
Joe’s career in the airline industry began in 1979 with Continental Airlines in Houston, TX. He has also lived in Bismarck, ND and Columbus, OH where he was the General Manager at both locations.
In 1992, he became tired of the cold weather, so he moved down south where he worked in West Palm Beach and Pensacola.
This past March, Joe retired and spent some time working on his golf game and refinishing furniture until he came to CLT to join the Jetstream Team.
Welcome Joe, we are happy to have you with us
Good morning all. Here is a DYK (photo) and also a look at what one passenger on the Miracle on the Hudson flight 1549 wrote about accountability for one’s self (see photo). As far as the DYK information, keep in mind that there were 150 passengers onboard.
Regarding the Accountability photo, through this experience, the passenger’s comment relates to being safe. His comment brings up a good point and is relative to how we work here at JetStream Ground Services. When it comes to safety, each individual is accountable for their actions and should be aware of their surroundings. He also throws a little humor at the end of his comment.
NOTE: The aircraft suffered more damage from the crane’s chains in lifting it from the Hudson and from forklifts in placing it onto a semi-trailer than the actual impact of the fuselage hitting the water.

ROC and CLT recently celebrated their Southwest Airlines 1 year anniversary. While each station showed their Southwest LUV, ROC
in particular had an amazing time.
Ben Jones was kind enough to share a little bit about the anniversary day with us, please read below. Thanks Ben!
In recognition of Southwest Airlines 1st year anniversary here in Rochester, NY, our team decided to provide a warm LUVing atmosphere for all of our
passengers. We started by decorating our Gate with plenty of Southwest colored balloons and provided Southwest logo pins to our employees. A large
vanilla/chocolate cake and ice cream was also served to our EE’s in celebration. For all of our departing passengers, we created a “Bingo” game where two lucky
passengers had a chance to win a $50 LUV voucher to go towards their future travel plans. CSA and Ops Agents carefully and randomly selected two passengers
according to their boarding pass letter and number in order to win.
A fun day was had by all!

On September 19, 2013 JetStream Ground Services was the presenting sponsor for US Airways 2nd Annual Suitcase Soiree benefiting the US Airways Education Foundation at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. The US Airways Education Foundation awards grants to nonprofit organizations to support children’s educational programs. A few of our employees had the opportunity to attend this event where they enjoyed food, entertainment and the chance to enter their “boarding passes” in the Grand Prize drawing for a trip to London, England that departed the night of the event. Unfortunately, no one from JetStream won the trip but a great time was had by all. The Carolina Panthers TopCats and mascot were in attendance along with many US Airways employees.
